Pantai Piwang telah dipenuhi oleh tenda bazar UMKM dan masyarakat yang antusias berdatangan memakai pakaian terbaik mereka dengan berbagai atribut merah putih.
Cuaca yang tidak menentu pada hari Minggu tanggal 17 Agustus 2025 tidak menyurutkan semangat masyarakat Natuna untuk menghadiri perayaan Hari Ulang Tahun ke-80 Republik Indonesia yang diselengarakan di Pantai Piwang, Ranai.
Beragam kegiatan dimulai sejak pagi hari. Upacara Pengibaran Bendera, aubade dari siswa/siswi SLTA dengan suara yang merdu dan bersemangat, kirab irama dengan alunan musik dan gerakan yang harmonis hingga Upacara Penurunan Bendera pada sore hari.
Masyarakat yang turut serta dalam pelepasan lampion ini merasa senang dan takjub. Pelepasan lampion ini menjadi bentuk ungkapan rasa syukur, semangat persatuan dan symbol harapan masyarakat Natuna untuk masa depan yang lebih baik.

The Spirit of Independence on a Border Island
Piwang Beach was filled with MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) bazaar tents as enthusiastic community members arrived in their best attire, adorned with various red-and-white attributes.
The unpredictable weather on Sunday, August 17, 2025, did not dampen the spirit of Natuna’s community to attend the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, held at Piwang Beach, Ranai.
Various livelinesses began in the morning: the Flag-Raising Ceremony, an aubade performance by high school students with melodious and spirited voices, marching bands with harmonious music and movements, and finally, the Flag-Lowering Ceremony in the afternoon.
The Reception Night became the most anticipated event. It featured performances from the flag-hoisting troop, cultural and arts (from poetry theater and patriotic songs to traditional dances), the screening of the Wonderful Natuna video, and the release of 1,000 lanterns.
The community members who joined in releasing the lanterns felt both joyful and amazed. The lantern release symbolises gratitude, the spirit of unity, and the hopes of the Natuna people for a brighter future.
